As a teacher in the largest school district in Texas, a first-generation college graduate, and the leader of the Houston office of Barack Obama during his reelection campaign in 2012, Adrienne Bell has staked her campaign on supporting high quality education to offer every child a chance to succeed. She has advocated for investing in Medicare for All and affordable child care for working families, defending social security, and ending the for-profit criminal justice system while investing in the communities that have suffered the most from it.
“My congressional campaign seeks to engage disenfranchised voters who believe their vote does not matter. As an African American, I have seen the mass incarceration of African American males, and its destruction on families. I support policies that reinforce the constitutional right, equal protection under the law, as it relates to race, gender, or sexual preference. My driving passion is to see people win over politics. The American people are hurting, they need a voice in DC, that echoes their voice, and returns the power to the people.”
