Born in Somalia and coming to the US as a refugee when she was a child, Ilhan became the first Somali-American Muslim state legislator in the country when she was elected to the Minnesota House of Representatives in 2016, and continued to make history when elected to Congress in 2018.

We’re proud to support her fight to make America work for all of us, not just the wealthy few, and to begin to dismantle systemic racism by abolishing ICE and private prisons.
