Don’t Let Chairman Bost Raise fees for Veterans
Tomorrow, the U.S. House will vote on the largest VA home loan fee hike in history — forcing working-class veterans to pay thousands more to buy a first home, move their family into a larger one, or refinance as costs rise. While billionaires receive massive tax cuts, Rep. Mike Bost is sticking veterans with the bill and hiding behind Gold Star families to justify it.
Republicans tucked the fee hike into the Sharri Briley Act, legislation that increases benefits for Gold Star families and 100% disabled veterans. Those families deserve full support, but Congress should fund those benefits honestly — not by making other veterans pay the price.
Send a letter to your Representative urging them to vote NO on the Sharri Briley Act unless Congress:
- Fully funds increased benefits for Gold Star families and 100% disabled veterans
- Removes the VA home loan fee hike entirely
- Stops using veterans’ earned benefits as a pay-for to balance the books
