Mondaire Jones is a former Obama Department of Justice staffer running to represent New York’s 17th Congressional District, an open, safely-democratic seat which covers parts of the Hudson valley. Mondaire was raised in Section 8 housing and on food stamps by a single mother who worked multiple jobs to provide for their family, and would be the first openly gay Black man elected to Congress. His progressive platform includes the Green New Deal, Medicare for All, and ending the Forever War.
