The VA Is Not For Sale
The VA was created for one reason: to take care of the men and women who served their country in uniform. From battle wounds to mental health services, the VA is supposed to be there when veterans need it, with professionals who understand the unique needs of the people who served.
But the system is cracking. Particularly under Secretary Doug Collins and his allies.
We are going to Congress this week to demand they know that the VA Is Not For Sale.
There are three things Congress can do right now to protect the VA and the healthcare they depend on:
- Require Detailed Public Staffing Data: Direct the VA to publish facility level staffing counts monthly
- Require Public Demand Data: Direct the VA to publish appointment requests per facility per month
- Require Impact Statements: Before political appointees eliminate clinical programs, require a projected impact on wait times and access
