Fred Wellman
Fred is a retired U.S. Army officer, West Point graduate, and third-generation military veteran who served more than twenty-two years in uniform. He flew OH-58 scout helicopters, earned his Ranger tab, and led soldiers in combat during Desert Storm and multiple deployments to Iraq. Since coming home and retiring, Fred has never stopped serving his community.
“At Common Defense, we’re proud to endorse our friend Fred Wellman for Missouri’s 2nd District. We’ve had enough of politicians who wave the flag but vote to cut VA funding and send other people’s kids to fight wars they can’t be bothered to justify. Fred knows the cost of those decisions firsthand and will be a real champion for working families in Congress,” said Naveed Shah, Political Director at Common Defense.
“I’m honored to have the endorsement of Common Defense, an organization that understands what every veteran knows: democracy is not self-executing. It must be defended, strengthened, and carried forward by people willing to serve something bigger than themselves. I spent 22 years in uniform, and I’m running for Congress because that service didn’t end when I took off that uniform. Missouri families and veterans deserve a representative who shows up, tells the truth, and fights for the freedoms we swore to protect.” said Fred Wellman, Candidate for Congress in Missouri’s 2nd District.
