Join me in supporting the country’s largest movement of progressive veterans

As a proud member of the Board of the Common Defense Education Fund, I hope you will join me this Veterans Day in supporting the country's largest movement of progressive veterans. I've been a lifelong social justice activist and have seen the veteran voice's power throughout many eras and struggles.

Still, it is more critical now than ever before.

When we are fighting extremism, cynicism, and misinformation, having a veteran appeal rooted in patriotism and the belief that America can live up to its promise can be a differentiating factor in the fight for peaceful foreign policy, a functioning democracy, and policies that address the existential threat of climate change. 

Together, the other CDEF Board members and I are raising $25,000 this Veterans Day to support the expansion of Common Defense's flagship training program, Veterans Organizing Institute, a robust non-partisan appeal to vote in Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas, and West Virginia, and local organizing efforts to secure IRA investments and bring clean jobs to Justice40 communities. If we are successful, a donor will match the gifts dollar for dollar.
