Common Defense was founded in 2016 and has been leading the fight against authoritarianism since.

We are a veteran-led grassroots movement dedicated to protecting democracy, combating authoritarianism, and building a future where liberty and justice truly are for all. We represent the diversity of the military and are united by the oath that we swore to defend the Constitution—from enemies, foreign and domestic. Together, we’re proving that patriotism means service to people—not politicians.

We fought hard to finally stop America’s longest war with our End the Forever War Campaign in 2020 and we refuse to let Trump or any president drag us into new Forever Wars.

Campaign Goals
- Restore congressional authority over war powers.
- Ensure Congress votes against any supplemental funding for Trump's illegal war in Iran.
- Pass the Block the Bombs Act to stop the transfer of weapons to Israel.
- Break the cycle of endless war through legislation that restricts executive abuse of war powers permanently.
