Common Defense Endorses Fellow Marine Corps Veteran Lucas Kunce in his senate race against Republican Josh Hawley

WASHINGTON, DC — Common Defense, the largest veteran-led grassroots organization nationwide, is proud to announce its endorsement of a fellow veteran, Lucas Kunce for election to the United States Senate. As a former Marine Corps officer, Kunce knows the value of leadership and is committed to safeguarding democracy like each and every Common Defense member and veteran.

"At a time when our democracy faces unprecedented threats, we need leaders like Lucas Kunce who are unafraid to stand up for what's right in states like Missouri. Lucas is a tireless advocate for working families and veterans alike. His time in the Marine Corps and his dedication to holding corporate special interests accountable make him a fierce champion for everyday Americans," said Naveed Shah, Political Director of Common Defense.

Throughout his campaign, Kunce has emphasized his commitment to dismantling corporate greed, promoting economic equality, and ensuring the rights of all Americans are protected. His plans to hold big pharmaceutical companies accountable, strengthen workers' rights, and deliver on promises to veterans resonate deeply with Common Defense’s mission to defend democracy and advocate for policies that uplift all Americans.

As veterans who have taken an oath to defend our country and its democratic principles, Common Defense is committed to mobilizing support for Lucas Kunce through grassroots organizing, voter engagement, and advocacy. Together, we will continue to fight for a Senate that upholds a democracy that works for all.

###

Common Defense is a grassroots, veteran-led organization founded in 2016. We empower veterans to stand up for our communities against the rising tide of racism, hate, and violence, to organize against the entrenched powers that have rigged our economy, and to champion an equitable and representative democracy where “liberty and justice” truly are for all. For too long, politicians from both political parties have attempted to use veterans as unwilling political props and Common Defense serves as a home for veterans to organize and speak for themselves.
