Common Defense Launches New “Vets for Harris/Walz” Campaign With Major Spend Commitment

WASHINGTON, DC – Common Defense, the nation’s largest grassroots organization of veterans in the country, launches “We Are Veterans For Harris,” and announces a major commitment of $1,000,000 in ad spending and organizing to demonstrate the support of the veteran community for the Democratic ticket. The organization’s first video of the campaign season highlights diverse veterans from across the country who are newly energized by the Harris/Walz ticket.

The ad campaign will highlight:

  • Why veterans love Tim Walz (and think JD Vance is a “blue falcon”)

  • Project 2025’s plan to gut the VA & the benefits veterans earned

  • How veterans have benefited from Biden/Harris policies like the Inflation Reduction Act and Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill that have created well-paid jobs across America

  • The effects of restrictions on reproductive healthcare for active duty troops, veterans and their families

The campaign will target the battleground states of Pennsylvania, Arizona, North Carolina, Georgia, and Texas, especially communities with high populations of veterans and active duty service members.

Common Defense’s Executive Director and Army veteran, Jose Vasquez said, “Coming off the recent Veterans and Military Families for Harris zoom call, we are seeing an unprecedented surge of enthusiasm in our community for the Harris/Walz ticket. Our members are fired up, and we want every voter to know that veterans across the country stand with Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.”
