COMMON DEFENSE CHAMPIONS FOUR CANDIDATES FOR CONGRESS

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Common Defense, the leading grassroots organization of progressive veterans with nearly 400,000 members nationwide, proudly endorses four dynamic and dedicated candidates for the United States House of Representatives.

These candidates exemplify the unwavering commitment to democratic values, the protection of reproductive rights, and the urgent fight against climate change. They are steadfast advocates for the veterans who once swore an oath to defend our democracy. We are honored to support:

Veronica Escobar (TX-16)

"As a representative committed to justice and equity, I am beyond grateful for Common Defense’s endorsement. Their tireless advocacy for veterans and their families mirrors my own dedication to ensuring that our policies reflect the needs and values of the people we serve." - Escobar

Seth Moulton (MA-06)

“I’m proud to earn an endorsement from Common Defense again and work alongside them to mobilize veterans and military families. Veterans understand the importance of political leadership because many of us have experienced the consequences of its failure.” - Moulton

Sara Jacobs (CA-51)

“I’m honored to receive the endorsement of Common Defense, a veteran-led organization that shares my dedication to fighting for veterans' rights, protecting reproductive freedoms, and boldly addressing the climate crisis head-on. Together, we will continue to stand up for our democratic values and work towards a more just future." - Jacobs

Deborah Ross (NC-02)

"Deborah Ross is a champion for the health and well-being of our communities. Her commitment to reproductive rights and environmental justice perfectly aligns with Common Defense's mission to create a more equitable society. Her leadership ensures that every voice is heard and every person is protected." - Naveed Shah, Common Defense Political Director

Common Defense is dedicated to mobilizing veterans and military families nationwide to support these exceptional candidates and our endorsed candidates through grassroots organizing, voter engagement, and advocacy efforts. Together, we will strive to build a more just and equitable society for all.

Common Defense Civic Engagement is a grassroots, veteran-led organization that was founded in 2016. We empower veterans to stand up for our communities against the rising tide of racism, hate, and violence, to organize against the entrenched powers that have rigged our economy, and to champion an equitable and representative democracy, where “liberty and justice” truly is for all. For too long, politicians from both political parties have attempted to use veterans as unwilling political props, and Common Defense serves as a home for veterans to organize and speak for themselves and support the candidates who truly share our values.
