Common Defense Endorses Former Governor Roy Cooper for Election to U.S. Senate in North Carolina

Washington, D.C. — Today, Common Defense, a grassroots organization of veterans and military families, announced its endorsement of Roy Cooper, former Governor of North Carolina, for the U.S. Senate in North Carolina.

Naveed Shah, U.S. Army veteran and Political Director at Common Defense, released the following statement:

“Common Defense is proud to endorse former Governor Roy Cooper for the U.S. Senate in North Carolina. As Governor, Roy consistently fought to deliver for veterans, service members, and military families — including establishing the Governor’s Working Group on Veterans Affairs to connect veterans with jobs, healthcare, benefits, and other critical services. Today, Roy is focused on another issue that matters deeply to veterans and military families: the rising cost of simply getting by. His plans to lower the cost of healthcare and housing, along with other everyday essentials, are about giving North Carolina families the security they need to build a future. Roy Cooper has shown that he will stand with those who serve our country long after they take off the uniform, and that’s why Common Defense is proud to stand with him.”
