Common Defense Endorses Retired Major Richard Ojeda for U.S. House in North Carolina’s 9th Congressional District

Washington, D.C. — Today, Common Defense, a grassroots organization of veterans and military families, announced its endorsement of Retired Major Richard Ojeda for US Congress in North Carolina’s 9th District to fight for American Families, Veterans, and the future of our democracy.

Jose Vasquez, U.S. Army veteran and Executive Director of Common Defense, released the following statement:

“Common Defense is proud to endorse Richard Ojeda for Congress in North Carolina’s 9th District. Richard has spent his career serving his community — in the military, in the classroom, and as a fighter in the state legislature. He understands the advocacy that military families, veterans, and service members need at this moment. That means stopping the assault on the VA workforce and protecting the benefits veterans have earned, from fair pensions and disability to healthcare and mental health support. After 24 years of service in the Army, Maj. Ojeda knows firsthand what it means to serve. We’re confident that he’ll fight to ensure veterans and their families have the support they were promised. That’s why Common Defense is proud to endorse him.”
