WASHINGTON (AP) — Dozens of military veterans on Wednesday hand-delivered letters to top Republicans in the U.S. House, calling on them to publicly condemn political violence as the second anniversary of the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol approaches.

WASHINGTON – In the final days of this congressional session, the veterans of Common Defense call on the Senate to include the Afghan Adjustment Act (AAA) in the omnibus. The AAA would ensure that our allies, who fought alongside us in a 20-year long war, would be welcomed and given protection here in the U.S. A bipartisan group of legislators, advocates, and organizers have worked tirelessly to pass this bill in the 2022 legislative session. Now, we must carry it across the finish line and keep our promise to our allies.
